How to stay at the top of your league without moving up by accident

Many players prefer to keep their power right below the limit of their current league instead of moving up. Within the same league, more power means a bigger share of each block. The hard part is getting close without passing the limit. This guide shows how to do it safely.
How your league is decided
Each league has a power range. Platinum II, for example, goes from 50 Eh/s to 100 Eh/s, and Platinum III starts at 100 Eh/s. The game's league bar uses your fixed power record (“Max Power”):
- the record only goes up when your fixed power passes the highest value you've ever had;
- if the record passes the limit, you move up a league;
- removing miners afterwards doesn't bring the record back down.
What counts and what doesn't
The power that counts for the league is: miners × (1 + miner bonus) + rack bonus. Freon, games power, temporary power and event bonuses don't count. That's why the game's “Total” can go above 100 Eh/s without you moving up. See the full explanation in How power and bonus work.
Why keep a margin
Reaching 99.999 out of 100 is possible, but risky. A safety margin protects you against:
- rounding differences between what the game shows and the real value;
- a miner placed in the wrong rack (different rack bonus);
- a copy you thought was a new miner, or the other way around.
A 300 Ph/s margin is the calculator's default: it stays very close to the limit (99.7 out of 100 Eh/s) and still leaves room for error. You can change it on the left panel.
Step by step with RollTheCal
- On the home page, type your character name (what comes after
rollercoin.com/p/) and click Analyze. Your league limit is filled in automatically. - In the Inventory tab, paste the text of your inventory (Miners and Racks). The calculator can then use your stored miners and racks.
- In the Room & Simulator tab, pick an option:
- + Add only: nothing moves; it only places stored miners in free spots;
- ⟳ Rearrange all: can remove and move any miner to get closer;
- % With minimum bonus: same as above, but makes sure the room ends with at least the bonus you choose.
- Follow the step by step in the order shown. Next to each step is the predicted power. Check the game's league bar at every step.
Common mistakes
- Using the game's Autoset. It places your strongest miners and can pass the limit in one go.
- Placing an event miner without calculating. A new miner with 1% bonus can add hundreds of Ph/s. Test it in the simulator first.
- Relying on Freon or games power. They don't count for the league, so they're no safety margin.
- Forgetting about copies. A second identical miner doesn't add bonus. Placing a copy adds much less than it seems.
Is it worth moving up?
It depends. In the league above, each coin's reward and the network power are different. Sometimes you earn more, sometimes less. In the Earnings tab, the Compare with another league option shows, coin by coin, how much you would earn in each league. Use the Move up button in the simulator to see the maximum power you can reach before deciding.
